Adaptation of the Reading Maturity Survey for College Level Students to Turkish: Instrument and Construct Validation Study

This study aims to adapt the Reading Maturity Survey (RMS) developed by Thomas, Yao, Katherine, and Kreiner (2018) into Turkish determine reading maturity level of university students. The group research consisted 734 students studying at level. In first phase adaptation study, three experts working in Department English Language Teaching a total 126 with sufficient command both languages were worked with, language validity practices completed. After was established, Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) Confirmatory (CFA) performed scale’s construct validity. To reliability items scale, Cronbach α internal coefficients calculated. distinctiveness items, item-total correlations calculated, significance difference between item scores upper 27% lower groups determined according score t-test. study’s findings show that version RMS is valid reliable measurement tool levels
